Victor-Marie Hugo was born the 26th february 1802 at Besançon and ded the 22th May 1885 at Paris.Hugo's father was an officer in Napoleon's army, an enthusiastic republican and ruthless professional soldier, who loved dangers and adventures. After the marriage of his parents had collapsed, he was raised by his mother.
From 1815 to 1818 Hugo spend in the Pension Cordier in Paris, but most of the classes of the school were held at the Collège Louis-le Grand.
He was a french poet, novelist, playwright, essayist, visual artist, statesman, human rights campaigner, and perhaps the most influential exponent of the romantic movement in france.He wrote many volumes of poetry like "la comtemplation"or "les légendes du siècle".He wrote some novels like "les misérables" or "Notre-dame de Paris".After he became a passionate supporter of républicanism.
